Lisa and Chris Maternity session

Friday, March 5th, 2010

I had a fantastic session last weekend with Lisa and Chris who are expecting there first child in about a month.

It’s going to be a boy but they haven’t decided on a name yet and told me it may come down to the wire on a decision .

This session was so much fun they were both  truly excited to be recording this time in there lives and clearly love each other a great deal and I think it shows in the pictures .

The funniest part was when I asked Lisa if she wanted some shots with the little blue baby shoes I have as props and she said maybe and Chris chimed in and said  “That means YES”

So here are a few shots from the session.

If you would like more  information on booking a session send me an email. don@donsmithpics.com

Model Portfolio Development Session

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

I had a great time shooting last Sunday with Lisa  an aspiring model from Tampa who contacted me about doing some glamor images for her portfolio.

I’ve done a couple of photo shoots with Lisa before for some of my personal projects so it was very easy to get in the grove and get some good images.

I had a good time trying out several lighting arrangement’s plus I don’t think Lisa can take a bad picture she really dose make me look good.

You can check out more of Lisa’s modeling work on her Model Mayhem Profile.

Scott Kelby’s Second Annual World Wide Photo Walk

http://worldwidephotowalk.com/

Had a a great time last Saturday at the Kelby photo walk in Ybor city in Tampa Florida.

Our walk was led by Scott Kelby  and we explored 7th and 8th ave.  and ended up at the Spaghetti Factory .

32,600 photographers from around the world  participated!

People had everything form point and shoot to the top of the line pro gear but it did not matter it was all abut exploring photography and making friends.

Here  are a couple of my shots from the walk.

Greengold-Lovoi Wedding

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Had a great weekend first with Scott Kelby Photo walk in Ybor city (more on that later) and then the Greengold-Lovoi wedding.

Dana and John were married on the beach in front of the Carlouel Yacht Club in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

This was my first Jewish ceremony  and it was just so beautiful and full of meaning.

Breaking of the glass

One of the most common meanings is that the fragility of the glass also suggests the frailty of human relationships, even the  strongest love is subject

to disintegration, the glass is broken to protect the marriage with an implied prayer.

“As this glass shatters, So may your marriage never break”

Dana and John I wish you all the best.

Alpha House of Tampa

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Well I’ve been looking for a way to get involved with the comunity and use photography to make a diffrence in peoples lives and I think I fond it.

The Alpha House of Tampa is a non profit organization who’s mission is to

empower pregnant and parenting women in crisis to realize their ability

to break the cycles of poverty and abuse and create promising lives for themselves and their babies.

I going to attend there Lunch and learn session on the 9th  and hopefully be setting up some dates to do some photography sessions  for there clients.

I think self esteem is so important I hope that through my photography I can help some one along  and provide some positive memory’s.

In the nest few weeks  I be posting  some images of our sessions.

I’ll also be gifting some free sessions to there contributors who donate a dollar amount to be determined shortly and donating a portion of my session fees in the next few months  to help them out.

Check out the Alpha House website  for ways you can help.
