Lighten up and shoot St. Petersburg

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

A couple weeks back I attended a workshop in St. Petersburg Florida hosted by Westcott and the guys from lighten up and shoot the workshop focused on off camera flash lighting techniques. The guys from light up and shoot Andy and Michal covered the basics of off camera flash and light modifiers then we went out shooting.

As luck would have it that day the Burghounds car club was having an event so about 80 photographers converged on some raly coll people and vintage cars great stuff for photography.

I also had the good fortune to meet Shawna Henderson Who has a great travel adventure blog of her recent adventures in Columbia take a second to check it out looks like great fun.

Model shoot with Zoya

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

I met Zoya through Xanka form the maternity shoot I posted previously.

Zoya I also from Russia .

We did this shoot in her home in Bradenton because she has two young children to keep up with while he husband was away on business.

I enjoyed getting out of the studio and the lighting challenges that presents .

I tried several lighting setups ffom a single off camera speedlight fired remotely by the Nikon CLS system to a studio strobe setup and some good old window light.

Beach Maternity shoot with Xanka

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Well I’ve been a little lazy on the blogging the last couple of weeks I’ve been staying plenty occupied with shoots and I figured I better start sharing.

I did a beach maternity shoot this week with Xanka who moved to Sarasota from Belarus Russia. She is a model and art teacher and already has two lovely girls.

The shoot was on Long boat Key just south of Coquina beach.

It really was a great day light breeze and blue sky’s hard to ask for anything more.

If your interested in booking a photo shoot just send me an email

Model Portfolio Development Session

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

I had a great time shooting last Sunday with Lisa an aspiring model from Tampa who contacted me about doing some glamor images for her portfolio.

I’ve done a couple of photo shoots with Lisa before for some of my personal projects so it was very easy to get in the grove and get some good images.

I had a good time trying out several lighting arrangement’s plus I don’t think Lisa can take a bad picture she really dose make me look good.

You can check out more of Lisa’s modeling work on her Model Mayhem Profile.

Greengold-Lovoi Wedding

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Had a great weekend first with Scott Kelby Photo walk in Ybor city (more on that later) and then the Greengold-Lovoi wedding.

Dana and John were married on the beach in front of the Carlouel Yacht Club in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

This was my first Jewish ceremony and it was just so beautiful and full of meaning.

Breaking of the glass

One of the most common meanings is that the fragility of the glass also suggests the frailty of human relationships, even the strongest love is subject

to disintegration, the glass is broken to protect the marriage with an implied prayer.

“As this glass shatters, So may your marriage never break”

Dana and John I wish you all the best.
