Random Facts about me… Don Smith

Married 26 years . Don’t know how I’d make it without her.

You might meet her some time doing a sales session or holding a reflector during your shoot.

I’m a Navy veteran.  I’ve managed to survive cancer twice now Hodgkin’s lymphoma and prostate cancer.

I was introduced to photography when I signed up for a class at the hobby shop on the Army base my dad was stationed at. I fell in love with it the first time I printed a picture in the dark room.

I love taking things apart to see how they work which led to my careers as an electronics technician, auto mechanic and computer systems analyst. Mom and Dad weren’t always so keen on me taking things apart but didn’t seem to mind when I fixed the cars.

I grew up in Hawaii watching Japanese TV and today I still love anime and Japanese culture.

I hate going to the gym I’d much rather go hiking or biking to get my exercise.

My wife and I are both huge Star Wars geeks I don’t even want to mention how many times I’ve seen the movies. If you see me out and about I’ll most likely be wearing a Star Wars T-shirt.

I’ve been shooting Boudoir for about five years now and I love it. Every time it’s like producing a weekly TV show with a new star.  Watching the transformation in Hair and makeup seeing the bold empowerment as they step out in their lingerie it’s the best feeling I think I could have as a photographer.

Hope to see you staring in your own production soon.
